Ubirr to Sandy Billabong - Day 100, 17/07/2016
After a coolish night we got up had breakfast and then packed up camp, we were on the road by 9am towards Jabiru. We needed to top up with diesel ($1.32 per liter) and grab a few supplies, we also took the opportunity to check in with family whilst we had mobile reception.
From Jabiru we made our way to Nourlangie Rock and spent and hour or so looking at the different art sites. For lunch we made our way just down the road to Anbangbang Billabong where we found a shady spot and took in the beautiful scenery and bird and wild life (more crocs).
It was a short drive to Sandy Billabong the last 5.5 kms being a little 4wd track which was no trouble at all, when we arrived there was only one other camper and it was great to get away from some of the crowds. The campground only has Eco toilets, fire pits and tables but is much more reasonably priced at $15 per night and definitely our cup of tea.
Later in the afternoon we walked the shores of the billabong and spotted more birds and crocs and just enjoyed being in a beautiful part of Kakadu minus the crowds.
Distance Traveled = 107 km
