King Edward River to Mitchell Falls - Day 62, 09/06/2016

I woke up this  morning with a sense of real excitement as today we finally get to Mitchell Falls. As luck would have it the grader has been let loose on the track and we had been told half of the track has been graded. A Lot of people day trip from King Edward River to Mitchell Falls rather than drag their campers up the rough track, but we have time on our side and whether the track had been graded or not we had decided to take our camper and spend a couple of nights at Mitchell Falls.

Even though the grader had been through the start of the track it was still pretty rough and slow going, it took us just over 2 hours to drive to the campground at Mitchell Falls from King Edward River. The campground here is very dry and a bit smaller than King Edward camp but the facilities are well looked after and very clean.

We found a spot we could tuck ourselves into and avoid having "huggers"camp right on top of us. Then it was off to book our return helicopter flight from the falls for tomorrow afternoon. Later in the arvo once it had cooled down a little we walked to Little Mertens falls for a swim and cool down before returning to camp for dinner and a relax around the camp fire.

Distance Traveled = 78 km
Total distance traveled with camper = 30,398, km
Total number of nights in the camper = 193
