Ocean Beach Bribie Island – Easter 2014 16th – 22nd April

Easter time for our family means camping on the beach at Bribie Island, this year is the fourth consecutive year we have camped here and we had a fantastic time. The weather for this trip was spectacular we couldn’t have wished for better conditions with clear warm days with light breezes. The beach was the best we have seen it for a number of years and the water was crystal clear. This trip was a family affair with Anna’s sister Katrina her husband Dan and their 3 boys joining us for the first 3 nights and then Anna’s Mum and Dad joining us on Saturday night and most of Sunday.  We also had some extended family and family friends staying in another campsite and it was great have a larger group of people to hang out with. On Friday afternoon we all got together to enjoy a feed of sand crab, mud crab and fish all caught on Bribie Island. As I’ve already mentioned we were really fortunate with the weather and combined with great company we had an awesome trip and look forward to doi

By 8.30 we had arrived at the campground to find it almost full… Like last year we grabbed the last spot that would suit us and have enough room for Bron and Steve when they joined us later in the week. After a quick setup we spent the rest of the day hanging out around camp and down on the beach. Late on Saturday a storm blew in from the west and dropped some rain but nothing too hairy… The next few days were wet and windy, on Monday we drove to the northern part of the Yuraygir National Park and had a look at the Lake Arragan, Red Cliff, Grey Cliff and Sandon River camp grounds.
