Labour Day Weekend, Tuan State Forest - May 2017

We’ve just had a long weekend here in QLD and we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to go camping again, we had a slow start to the year with very few camping trips so far and we are keen to get out as often as possible. Anna spotted an article on Facebook about the Tuan State Forest near Tin Can Bay and we decided to head out to have a look and enjoy a new spot. There are two campgrounds in the Tuan State forest and we selected the smaller of the two called "Log Dump" as it had Eco toilets and at the time of placing our  booking appeared to have no other campers booked in. Once the kids had finished playing netball we set off on the 2 hour drive north, upon arrival we soon realised that we had to share the campground with quite a few other groups. After a quick setup the kids took off and explored the area, the campground is located on the banks of the Kauri Creek and is fairly small but the facilities are clean and it’s a pretty spot to relax for a couple of days.
