Overland Australia

This was our last trip for the year and we spent it at Elanda Point with a group of friends. We used this trip as our yearly Christmas get together and it was great to have a big group to celebrate with. All up we had 11 Adults and 13 kids… We travelled up on Friday morning with Paul and Sharna and we met Bron and Steve at the campground, we picked our favourite spot and were soon all set up for the weekend. Friday afternoon was spent having a swim and enjoying the warm weather. Later in the afternoon the Dads took the kids for a walk out to Mill Point and left the ladies to relax at camp. Saturday was another beautiful day and we were joined by Jason and Carrie and their kids around morning tea. Andrea and kids arrived soon after that and not too long after that Joy, Norbit and their 3 boys arrived. We all enjoyed an awesome lunch of Roast Pork and Lamb with some tasty salads washed down with alcoholic goodness of varying descriptions. We had a good time relaxing and enjo

This trip was another 2 night get away back to one of our usual spots – Amamoor Creek Campground in the Amamoor State Forest. We left home on the Friday afternoon after school had finished and we arrived at the campground just after 4pm where we found Bron and Steve who had just started setting up. The campground was empty apart from one other camper and it stayed this way for the entire weekend. We found this a little strange as our previous visits to this campground resulted in us having to share with numerous other groups. QLD National Parks have reduced the camping numbers at this site from 200 to 100 people due to not having enough toilets so this and the forecasted storms may have been the reason it was so quiet. The weather was nice and warm and we had a brief storm roll through on Saturday around lunch time… The creek was still flowing and we all enjoyed swimming in the creek to cool off. We packed up just before lunch time on Sunday and where soon safely back at home.

This was a quick overnight get away back to one of our favourite spots in SE QLD. We were joined by our close friends Bron and Steve and Paul and Sharna and their families. As this was just a quick trip we all left home fairly early on Saturday morning and we were set up by 9.30am so we could enjoy as much time as possible here. The weather was fantastic with nice warm sunny days and cool nights, the kids had a ball playing outside, exploring the creek and riding their bikes. For this trip we were going to Cobb and Co 9 Mile Camping grounds just south of Gympie. This trip we were joined by 3 other families – 7 adults and 7 kids. We finished work early on the Friday and afternoon and arrived at the camp ground around 4pm and met 2 of the families that had arrived in earlier that day. Our 4 th family arrived mid morning on Saturday. It was a warm weekend and everyone had a great time enjoying all the activities on offer, this is a great place to bring the kids as there is plenty for them to see and do.
