Katherine Gorge to Edith Falls - Day 84, 01/07/2016

We were away early this morning as we had heard that our next destination was very popular and if you arrive too late you miss out. We stopped in at Katherine to top up our milk supplies and then continued north to Edith Falls arriving at the campground just before 10am. The gate to the campground was closed with the campground full sign dangling from it and our hearts sank. I found a park and Anna enquired about camp availability and we were told that a suitable site had just become available which was great news.

Lisa who runs the campground does a great job and was fantastic to deal with, the campground is very well kept and most sites have access to lovely green grass and shaded sections. The sites are well spaced and this was a welcome relief after being crammed in like sardines at Katherine Gorge.

I got chatting to one of our neighbours and it turns out that Ralph and Julie are friends of my brother in law, we keep bumping into people we either know or are from back home. Later in the afternoon we had a great time swimming in the pool below Edith Falls and the kids did a great job swimming out to the falls against the current. Later that evening we had a few drinks with Ralph and Julie before a very delicious dinner of Mongolian Lamb.

Distance Traveled = 90 km
