St. Vidgeons Ruins to Towns River - Day 111, 28/07/2016
We were in no rush this morning as we promised to take our time across the Savannah Way, we have plenty of time left on our trip and there is no point rushing home. Our destination for today was Towns River which was literally just down the road, we had read that it was a popular spot and that you could fish from the rocky ledge so we decided to get going and arrived at camp just after 10am.
This campground is run by NT National Parks and is split into two parts, one area down on the water with very little shade and the other back from the river with plenty of shade. We wanted to fish and needed the sun for solar and decided to camp down on the river, when we arrived there were 2 other camps already set up at either end so we took the middle giving everyone room. As the afternoon progressed a few more campers rolled in and the riverside camping area was quite busy which was a little disappointing after having St. Vidgeons all to ourselves.
Distance Traveled = 49 km
