Karumba - Day 129, 15/08/2016

To date we have been fishing with lures but this morning we tried something a little different and used some bait in an attempt to catch some fish. The staff at the caravan park had given us a tip on where to go and we set off after breakfast. I'm glad to report that our curse is broken but sadly we haven't caught anything huge or exotic, we traveled all the way to the Gulf to catch Sand Whiting....

Ah well at least they were tasty and this might be the turning point and a warm up to catch fish I don't get at home. On a recommendation from Katarina and Greg we booked ourselves onto the Sunset Crab and Croc cruise and had a great time exploring the port and learning all about the history of Karumba and its main industries. We were then taken out into the Gulf to a sand island where we were served prawns and nibbles, beer and wine whilst the sun set over the water. We had a really great time and we would also recommend this tour to anyone visiting Karumba.
