Cooktown - Day 136, 22/08/2016
After breakfast we walked into town to checkout the monuments to Cook and all the information on the history of Cooktown, it’s a very beautiful town and Anna hinted several times that she would love to live here… As we made our way back to the Caravan Park we passed the RSL and saw that they had $10 lunches and we couldn't pass that up, the meals here were fantastic and very large and we all left feeling very satisfied.
Once back at camp the kids and I chilled out in the pool whilst Anna did some washing, when the washing was hung out to dry we drove out to Finch Bay and had an awesome walk along the beach. The coast here is spectacular and although it was windy the locals tell us it isn't very windy and that we timed our visit to coincide with perfect weather. From here we drove up to Grassy Hill where there is another monument to Cook and the Endeavor and the home to the lighthouse. We stayed here for the rest of the afternoon and enjoyed watching the sun set over the mountain ranges, river and town.
Distance Traveled = 12 km
