Simpson Desert - Day 2, St George to Currawinya NP 18/06/2017

Our second day on the road started out with a beautiful sunrise, we all slept well and were cosy in or respective swags and roof top tent. After a quick breakfast and pack up we drove back into St George to use the public amenities and have another look around their war memorials.

We had lunch at Cunnamulla near the fella and filled both tanks with diesel and then drove out to the Currawinya National Park which is just south of Eulo. This was our first taste of dirt roads and overall they were in pretty good nick with sections of graded parts and other rougher parts the graders hadn't got to yet. Our camp for tonight was the Corni Paroo campsite and we had it all to ourselves, National Parks have put in bollards to prevent you camping down by the Paroo river which is a pity.

When we were selecting a spot to set up we came across a mangy looking little pig out for an arvo stroll. After dinner we all relaxed around the fire and soaked up the beautiful view of the Milky Way and the Southern Cross, nothing like being out west in big sky country on a moonless clear night.

Distance Travelled - 426km
