Cape York - Day 17, Captain Billy's landing to Weipa 02/07/2018

Last night the girls wanted to swap with Anna and I… I drew the short straw and had the honour of sleeping in the roof top tent and Erin joined me… Anna and Lily were safely tucked up in the swag down behind the ute and out of the wind. Poor Erin and I had to endure the flapping of the roof top tent and didn't manage to get much sleep... Anyway thems the brakes and we couldn't do much about it.

After packing up and chatting to some fellow travellers we continued on our way stopping in at the Moreton Telegraph Station for lunch of meat pies and a look around. Here we saw our only complete Telegraph posts of the whole trip.

After lunch we found the Batavia Downs Road and took the shortcut across to the PDR which continues onto Weipa. The drive was uneventful and we made it to Weipa just after 2pm where we found the supermarket and replenished our dwindling stocks, after finishing the travellers car park pantry, fridge and freezer packing we took the very short (600m) drive to the one and only caravan park in Weipa. We were allocated a beautiful grassy spot on the water front which gives the crocs first go at us...

Distance travelled = 265km
