Birdsville Trip Day 11 - Morven to Glass House Mountains 660km

This is our last day of the trip and we (Anna and I) are a little sad its over and we had such a great time but we have missed the kids and are really looking forward to seeing them. I'm glad the kids didn't come on this trip as I don't think the Races and the activities in town were suitable for young children. We were able to really enjoy ourselves without constantly worrying about the kids. In saying that I'm really disappointed that they missed out on travelling through some beautiful outback regions, but we will be back and next time the kids with be with us.

We were greeted with a cool morning with a very heavy dew (first of the trip) in Moreven, we wanted to get on the road ASAP so we all had a quick breakfast and got into the job of packing up. Steve and I did our best to dry as much as the canvas as we could and I was really surprised at how wet the canvas was... Anyway we were soon on the road again and had an uneventful run home. We stopped at Miles to refuel and get some really bad servo food for lunch and apart form the constant stop/start speed up and slow down routine due to all the road works between Chincihlla  and Dalby we made good time and arrived home just before 4pm.

A massive thank you to Steve and Bron who joined us on this trip, it was great travelling with you guys and we really hope you had as much fun as we did. We have heaps of great memories and the experiences we shared on this trip will stay with us forever. We just need to get you guys into your own 4WD so you can join us on our future outback adventures.

Another big thank you to my Mum who kindly agreed to travel up from Tassie and look after our 2 girls while we where away. Thank you so much Mum we had such a great time and you made that possible. We love you very much.

We travelled just over 3400km on this trip and was to date the biggest trip for this camper and 4wd. I'm glad to say we didn't have any major issues on this trip with either car or camper. Dust is an issue with our canopy and I really need to explore other options for future trips. The camper has some stone damage to the draw bar and leading edges which I'll fix in the next few weeks and I need to replace and relocate the trailer plug connection on the car as it was smashed by rocks. The Doran tyre pressure monitor was fantastic and allowed me to keep an eye on all my tyre pressures which meant no flat tyres...

Overall this was a fantastic trip with great mates, I got to tick quite a lot of my every growing bucket list. We had fantastic weather and we can't wait to get back out there and continue exploring the outback and desert regions of Australia.

Trip Distance = 660km
Total distance travelled with camper = 14,237km
Total number of nights in the camper = 97
