Poverty Creek, Bribie Island - 20th and 21st June

Winter camping for us usually involves a few trips to Poverty Creek on Bribie Island and this was our destination on this weekend. Bribie is nice and close to home so we took our time getting ready on Saturday morning and by mid-morning we had arrived at our camp site. The Northern Inland track was in fairly good condition thanks to the recent rains, it was a bit lumpy and rutted in sections but nothing too hard just slow going.

We booked our usual site in site number 7 as we wanted a site with a fire pit. As it turns out National Parks now allow fires in the group and camper trailer area and have placed a number of fire rings throughout the area which is great for our future visits. After setting up we spent the day enjoying the winter sun, I fished for a bit while the girls climbed trees and enjoyed being outdoors. Anna cooked a beautiful roast dinner in the camp oven and we had a good time with a few drinks around the warm fire.

On Sunday morning we spent some more time chilling out around camp and down by the water before packing up around midday for the return journey home.

Trip Distance = 106km
Total distance travelled with camper = 17,138km
Total number of nights in the camper = 122
