Cobb and Co 9 Mile - 23rd to 25th of May

Forgive me I've been slack and I'm a few trips behind on the blog, too busy getting out enjoying the beautiful QLD weather.

We picked the kids up from school on  Friday arvo and headed north to Cobb and Co 9 Mile camp ground (website link) This spot is one of the kids favourite destinations as there is plenty to keep them amused which is great for the adults as we can relax knowing the kids are entertaining themselves in a safe environment. We booked our usual spot and we arrived to find Bron and Steve half way through their set up. We positioned the camper and set about getting set up ourselves, after 20 or 30 minutes we were into our first drinks around our camp fire.

On Saturday we relaxed around camp and let the kids do their thing, we had a stroll around the property and checked out the new additions since our last visit. Later in the afternoon the kids wanted to go for a swim (they don’t feel the cold) so we took them down to the Billabong, the water must have been cold as they didn't venture too far instead they covered themselves in clay and mud… We rinsed the kids off and the mums took them up for a warm shower and proper clean. Just before dark we walked down to 6 Mile Creek to try and spot the local Platypus, we were really impressed with the girls as they were very quiet for 30 or 40 minutes and really did deserve to see the Platypus but he had other ideas. After dinner the kids were bundled into bed and we enjoyed a few more drinks and laughs around the fire.

Sunday morning arrived and we were greeted with another beautiful day, the kids were soon off playing together and making new friends  leaving the adults to slowly pack up. We left mid-afternoon and had an uneventful drive home. We really do enjoy coming here, it’s a bit more expensive than the National Parks but the facilities and activities for the kids are great. Sean has done a great job with his recent additions and even though it was the busiest we have ever seen it we didn't feel crowded. We look forward to coming back soon.
