Cedar Grove, Amamoor State Forest - 20th to 22nd November

The weather has really started to warm up and we had decided to stay a couple of nights at the Cedar Grove camp ground in the Amamoor State Forest. We left home after school on Friday afternoon and it didn't take long to travel north to the camp ground where we found a nice spot with enough room for our camper and Bron and Steve who joined us on the Saturday morning.

As we were staying for 2 nights and the weather forecast was for hot days we set up the full awning to provide us with some extra shade. We worked up a bit of a sweat and after setting up we all enjoyed a nice swim in the creek before returning to camp for an awesome curry dinner that Anna had prepared.

After a warm night we woke to a beautiful day on Saturday, we had breakfast then spent the morning keeping cool in the creek. Just after mid-morning we were joined by Bron and Steve and their daughter Alana. The warm weather had brought the campers out and the camp ground was filling up pretty quickly. Most of Saturday involved chilling out in the shade around camp or swimming in the creek with the kids. The girls are getting quite adventurous and enjoyed jumping from the rock ledges and using the rope swing. Saturday night dinner consisted of steak and sausages cooked on the Snow Peak fire pit and a big tasty salad. After dinner the kids were off to bed and the adults enjoyed a few drinks around the fire, we were joined by our neighbours Robert and Eva who were from Sweden and were travelling down the east coast for the next 6 weeks. It was great chatting with them about their travels so far and their plans for the rest of their trip.

Sunday morning arrived all too soon and with it came very light and annoying drizzle, just enough to wet the canvas and keep it wet for most of the morning. By midday the canvas had dried out and we were able to complete our pack up, we had to leave a little earlier than we would have liked as the girls had a full dress rehearsal for an upcoming dance concert.

Trip Distance = 218km
Total distance travelled with camper = 20,201km
Total number of nights in the camper = 138
