Cobb and Co 9 Mile - 2nd to 4th of August

This camping trip was our first trip with Bron and Steve in their new camper and they got to choose the destination. Cobb and Co 9 Mile had been recommended to them by some of their friends and it turned out to be a great destination. We arrived late on Friday afternoon to find Bron and Steve all set up and after a quick look around we saw that we had the place pretty much to ourselves with one or two other groups spread out through the campgrounds.

As we set up the kids went off to explore the camp ground, this place has loads of activities for the kids with wide open spaces to play ball games, flying foxes, playgrounds and a dam to swim in with body boards and canoes to use when the weather is warmer. We had great weather on this trip and as a result we didn’t bother putting our awning up again so our set up was really quick. We settled into the evening with a few drinks and nibbles around the camp fire and this was followed up by Bron’s Chicken Enchilada Nachos which turned out to be a real crowd pleaser.

On Saturday we were woke to a very foggy morning which eventually cleared just before  Joy,  Norbit and their 2 boys arrived to join us. We spent the day enjoying the sunshine and playing sports with the kids and exploring the campgrounds. All of the kids managed to get themselves wet either in the Dam or down in 6 Mile Creek. Lily had the best excuse as the resident dog Drover pushed her off the log she was trying to cross the creek on. I had read that there were apparently Yabbies in the Dam so we threw in a few pots but had no luck on that front. Later that arvo the adults took control of the sporting equipment and had a good laugh at ourselves attempting to play Badminton and Cricket. Our physical activity was rewarded by a big feed of camp donuts with Nutella or Rasberry Jam filling…

Sunday was another fantastic warm sunny day and after a big feed of bacon, eggs and pancakes we all slowly started to pack up. By midday we were all packed away and ready to head home.

Cobb and Co 9 Mile is a privately run campground with great facilities and heaps of activities for all of the family, we had a great time and look forward to coming back soon. For more information have a look at their website - http://www.cobb-and-co-nine-mile-camping-grounds.com/
